Hi Bill,

It's partly about rewards, but it's also about taking advantage of sign-up bonus offers. Credit card sign-up offers have been harder to find in 2008, but in the last two years, here's how much my wife and I have made in sign-up offers from the following companies:

Amex - $800
Bank of America - $500
Chase - $250
Citi - $400

Not bad, eh? It certainly helps to supplement our current pitiful income level.

So, I don't pay a penny in interest, and I've made close to 2k from credit card companies. I guess you could say the economic downturn is partly my fault! :-)
